Where the Mitsubishi Outlander takes you
Seven seats with four-wheel drive at the affordable end of the fleet. Like the other compact 4WDs it is at home on everything paved plus the gravel that follows: the side valleys around Kazbegi, vineyard tracks in Kakheti, the rough inner streets of mountain villages, and Ushguli in summer on the sealed road. The limits are the familiar ones - Tusheti, the Abano Pass and genuinely rough tracks are 4Runner and Prado work.
Living with it
The cheapest way to move seven people in our fleet. Three rows, petrol, automatic, four-wheel drive. As with any seven-seater the third row and a full load of luggage compete for the same space, so it is at its best as a five-seater with a huge boot, or seven people travelling light on shorter hops.
