Every car below is automatic, comes with full Casco insurance and unlimited mileage, and carries no security deposit. The daily rate falls the longer you keep it, and nothing is paid online - you settle the whole amount at pick-up. What actually separates these cars is not comfort but where the tarmac ends, so they are grouped here by the roads they are cleared for.
What a whole trip costs, with every fee
Two-wheel drive, for sealed roads
One car in the fleet drives a single axle, and for a lot of trips that is all you need. Tbilisi, Kakheti's wine roads, Mtskheta, the whole Black Sea coast, Borjomi and Vardzia are sealed, and so are the main highways to Kazbegi and Mestia. It is the cheapest way to cover them. It stops at gravel: side valleys, village back streets and anything resembling a track.
All-wheel-drive crossovers, for gravel
The middle of the fleet: everything above, plus the gravel it cannot take. Juta, the Truso Valley, the broken last stretch to David Gareja and the potholed streets of Stepantsminda and Mestia are all straightforward, and since the Mestia-Ushguli road was sealed in 2024 these reach Ushguli in good summer weather. This is the right default for most Georgia itineraries - see the route-by-route guide for where it stops being true.
Full 4×4, for the high passes
The routes that genuinely need this are few but absolute: the Abano Pass into Tusheti, the track to Koruldi Lakes above Mestia, Shatili in shoulder season, and mountain roads after weather has been through. Book one of these if any of that is on the itinerary, or if you want the margin in winter. Seven seats are available in this group.
Premium
All-wheel drive and the equipment list to match, for when the car is part of the trip rather than a way to get through it.
