Where the Toyota Prius Hybrid takes you
The Prius is the one two-wheel-drive car in our fleet, and in summer that is enough for most of Georgia: Tbilisi and Kakheti's wine roads, Mtskheta, the whole Black Sea coast, Borjomi and Vardzia, and the main highways up to Kazbegi and Mestia are all sealed. Where it runs out is the gravel: the side valleys to Juta and Truso, the rough inner streets of mountain villages, and anything resembling a track. Living with it
A hybrid makes more sense here than it does in most countries: Georgian distances are long, fuel is a real line in the budget, and the Prius sips it. Five seats and a usable boot cover two people with luggage comfortably or four travelling light. The automatic gearbox and small footprint make it the easiest car in the fleet to park in Tbilisi's old town, where the lanes were laid out long before cars. It is the choice when the trip is about the cities and the coast rather than the mountains.
